Full Review
These tights are great for 3 out of the 4 seasons, for trail or town. With the current reduced price on these tights you are getting the usual Topo high build quality for the same price as a budget pair.
Fabric
The material is moisture wicking with a 4 way lycra stretch which gives you great freedom of movement when doing exercise. They are also a full length tight so you get protection from undergrowth or ticks if you are out on trails for the day.
Flat Locked Seams
I often find that a good indication of a quality piece of outdoor clothing is flat locked seams. These are stitching lines between two sections of fabric that are ‘flat’ against your skin instead of a ‘raised’ single stitch line. Stitching can be one of the main reasons to get rubbing or chafing on your body and flat locked seams combat this to give you greater comfort.
That Topo Tag
The red Topo tag that is one of their useful features is here. Normally is on the back of their tops, but here its down by the ankle. Its a super stretchy wide piece of elastic that allows you to roll up your clothing into a tight ball or roll so that it takes up very little space when you are backpacking or travelling abroad.
Comfy Wide Waistband
The Topo Sport Tights have a nice wide and flat waistband that’s comfortable, doesn’t put pressure on any particular part of your tummy and also doesn’t roll down into a ball and drive you crazy like cheaper leggings/ tights can.
Gripes
Sizing can be really tricky for women, far more than for men because women vary much more in shape. Shona wore these in a size large ( she is 5ft 5 and a size 12) and they were a good fit.
Although there are sizes Sml , Med , Large etc it would be great if Topo Designs could consider keeping the sizes as they are but adding a ‘curvy’ option to each size to accommodate more female shapes. Alternatively their size chart could have added measurements to check for hips, bum, thigh and waist.
The good news is Topo Designs have a free returns policy that’s superb simple, they even sent us the postage label to exchange the leggings for a different size, so if you are unsure of your size you can buy with confidence knowing a free return is easy, or even buy two sizes and simply return the one once you’ve tried them both on.

About Topo
Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen had always been interested in not only spending time outside, but also in the gear needed to get out. They found themselves wishing there was a company offering a lineup a bit more like the gear they grew up using—classic styling, functionality, durability and a clear connection with the brand behind the product. So in 2008, Jedd bought a sewing machine and began concepting, designing, and sewing packs in his Fort Collins basement, while Mark set out around Denver and the front range looking for resources and partners needed to build those designs.
They were lucky enough to find local Colorado folks that were just getting started like them and were willing to build companies together, and worked with them to produce Topo Designs’ initial offering of products, continuing to work with them to this day.
Could it be possible for a catalog. ? Sent to me. Thank you paula
