Super Speedy Summary Review
Warm enough in the winter and great as a Field Shirt too when worn with a T Shirt underneath I really love this shirt. Its smart enough to wear out in town and rugged enough to wear when outdoors or hiking. The shirt comes in Olive, Blue or Khaki and has a straight standard fit, washes well even on low temperatures and rarely needs ironing if you hang it up wet.
In Depth Review
I’m now ‘of an age’ where I’m ‘shirt curious’. I’ve been like this since I did an Ultra race a few years back where one of the smiling competitors from Hong Kong did the entire multi stage race in a shirt and shorts with a bow tie.
He looked amazing on the trails and off the trails too !
Pockets
The Topo Designs Field shirt comes in a very classic military style, with two large pockets on the chest, one with a pen slot too.
Cotton
The shirt is made of a sturdy 7oz cotton which is soft to the touch but really hardy when you are outdoors. There are also two buttons on each cuff too which makes rolling up your sleeves a little bit easier.
Paracord Top Button
A lot of the Topo Designs clothing comes with a little feature that makes me smile. In this case the top button on the shirt is hooked by a small little piece of bright red paracord.
Sizing
Mine came in size medium and like all of their gear I would say comes true to size with no surprises. My only small gripe would be that the sleeves are absolutely fine without a watch on, but if you tend to wear a rather chunky watch you may find the sleeves can be a bit tight round the watch.

About Topo Designs
Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen had always been interested in not only spending time outside, but also in the gear needed to get out. They found themselves wishing there was a company offering a lineup a bit more like the gear they grew up using—classic styling, functionality, durability and a clear connection with the brand behind the product. So in 2008, Jedd bought a sewing machine and began concepting, designing, and sewing packs in his Fort Collins basement, while Mark set out around Denver and the front range looking for resources and partners needed to build those designs.
