Super Speedy Review
This super lightweight jacket is perfect for the ‘April Showers’ season. For runners and hikers the fact that it packs up super small means you can take this in your pocket with you in case of the odd shower. The material weighs almost nothing, but is strong and water and wind resistant. This is the jacket to get you through a 20 min rain shower or if you get slightly cold on run or walk. The jacket makes a sensible sacrifice of breathability and features like pockets in exchange for space age lightness. This jacket is designed to get you out of trouble, whereas the Topo Global Jacket is the one to go out when you expect trouble from the start weather wise.

April is hugely unpredictable for weather. This is the jacket that spends most of its time in your pocket. Its starts packed up small inside its own mesh inner pocket and weighs nearly nothing. I found in testing it sat perfectly well in my back pocket or in the cargo pocket of my pants.
Its also important you realize what this jacket is and isn’t for. This jacket is to see you through quick rain showers up to an hour. This jacket will not get you through a rain storm for longer than that.
Material
The jacket is made from a micro nylon ripstop fabric. It has a waterproof coating that repels water well and has a small mesh pocket inside that’s beg enough for your phone when you are wearing it. Its also available in three colors, Red, Silver, Black or Glacier.
Zips and Tabs
The jacket is geared towards minimalist lightweight function. The zip reflects this by being lightweight and the jacket has a red tab at the back to help you hang this up to dry after use.
Collars and Cuffs
The jacket has elasticated cuffs to keep the rain out and a high collar to also help keep the rain and wind off your face. The hood is also effective and comfortable at keeping the rain and wind off your head and face too.
Suggested Care Guide
Its sensible if you wash this garment on low temperatures WITHOUT detergent. Its why I try pick all my technical gear in black if possible. It hides the dirt and stains. I strongly suggest using a mild soap based cleaner instead or a specialist tec gear wash such as Nik Wax tec wash. If you do this and leave the garment to hang dry you will massively increase its lifetime of breathability and water repellency. I also suggest using Nik Wax waterproof spray on it from time to time to keep the garment beading properly.

About Topo Designs
Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen had always been interested in not only spending time outside, but also in the gear needed to get out. They found themselves wishing there was a company offering a lineup a bit more like the gear they grew up using—classic styling, functionality, durability and a clear connection with the brand behind the product. So in 2008, Jedd bought a sewing machine and began concepting, designing, and sewing packs in his Fort Collins basement, while Mark set out around Denver and the front range looking for resources and partners needed to build those designs.
They were lucky enough to find local Colorado folks that were just getting started like them and were willing to build companies together, and worked with them to produce Topo Designs’ initial offering of products, continuing to work with them to this day.
