With a flannel lined interior and multiple pockets this jacket gives you layering options as well as the waxed finish giving protection from the weather. The fact that the Grain colored one looks like the Han Solo jacket is a bonus !

As someone that spends a lot of time outdoors on trails all year I have a tendency to wear sports gear as casual clothing too. The Kuhl Outlaw Waxed jacket is a fantastic pull away from the default ‘puffy jacket’ and smarten me up a bit when I’m out for a walk or away from the trails and into more urban areas.
Straight out I’m just going to say it…. the Grain colored option for the Outlaw Jacket looks like Han Solos jacket. And I LOVE that !
Waxed Exterior
The jacket exterior is made form 97% cotton with a little bit of stretch and a waxed cotton canvas finish that makes the jacket very resistant to unexpected weather and downpours. Its unique finish will age as you wash or wear it making it look like a favourite jacket you’ve worn for years.
Flannel Interior
The jacket has a flannel lining that adds to the warmth. There is also an interior zip pocket to store things like your wallet or phone too.
Fit
The jacket comes up true to size and the arms have excellent articulation making the jacket much more comfortable to wear in a normal bent arm pose. Its cut to allow layering beneath or to wear simply over a T-Shirt. I would say this jacket is perfect for a changeable Spring day or those times in the Fall when you need a little bit of warmth in the afternoons and evenings.
Pockets
As well as the inside zipped pocket the jacket has two large main zipped pockets with a fleecy lined to help keep your hands warm, as well as smaller button chest pockets as well.
Sleeves
The sleeves come with multiple push popper options meaning you can wear it wider or thinner depending on whether you are wearing gloves or not. I also like that the inside of the sleeves are lined with nylon to make it easier to take off and put on the jacket.
Gripes
No gripes at all. This jacket is a fantastic mash up of retro style with practical warmth at a superb price point.
