The KUHL Rydr Jean is like a sports model of the traditional jeans. With a more comfortable waistband, hidden phone pocket and a slight amount of stretch you get pants that can be used when more active in way traditional jeans would be a nightmare. With an articulated leg and generous fit you get plenty of freedom of movement even if you size down for a more tailored fit. These jeans are as awesome on the trail as they are in a bar.

There comes a time as a ‘Brit’ AND someone in their 40s that I have to let go of skinny fit jeans and opt for comfort with style. Im not dead yet though so I still want a pair that I can wear out on a hike and still look acceptable in a bar or restaurant. The Kuhl Rydr Jeans were made with this in mind.
Fabric
The Kuhl denim has a little bit of stretch to it and has been shaped to have an articulated knee so you have more freedom of movement. This means if you are the sort of person that goes bouldering without any notice or like me can be out on a trail in the morning but in a tap house by lunchtime you’ll love these jeans.
Pockets
All jeans have a pretty standard pocket setup. The only thing that stands out here is that there is an extra thigh pocket lower down that’s big enough for even the largest smartphone. Ive seen this more and more on pants and its great because it removes the bulk from higher up where it can get in the way if you are active.
Fit
These jeans have a relaxed fit. They also have a very comfortable waist on them. You can opt for a more tapered leg option and because they are true to size ( but with generous legs) you can also opt for a size down if you want a slimmer look. I would actually recommend ordering one inch smaller on the waist than you usually do.
