The Topo Hybrid Hoodie is designed to be a lightweight layer for being on trails or the perfect travel hoodie for airports or long car journeys.

Fabric

The fabric is a very lightweight stretchy fabric that has sections added that are DWR coated in key areas where you would be exposed to wind or rain showers. The extra layer of coated fabric is placed in areas where you would be most exposed to wind or rain like the outsides of the arms. top of the hood, chest area and near the base of the back where you might sit down wearing it.

Sizing and Fit

Its a straight fit garment but sizing comes in as expected, if slightly on the close fitting side. Being close fitting isn’t an issue because the hoodie has elasticated fabric and areas like the arms are tailored well for an active person by having articulated arms. The hoodie comes in two color options bu I have to say the light grey option looks great without being a dirt magnet due to the DWR finish.

Pockets

The Hybrid Hoodie has 2 large pockets for your hands on the front, as a well as a zip chest pocket on the outside. there is also an internal mesh pocket big enough for your phone that also allows you to turn it inside on itself to pack it away neatly without taking up much space.

Loops and Cords

The Hybrid Hoodie comes with elasticated close fitting sleeves with bright red thumb loops and the hem has a draw cord toggle to tighten up and keep the wind out.

Closest Contender

Leorever make a very similar hoodie for a very similar price with a few less pockets and no DWR coating.

Verdict

This hoodie is not a thick warm hoodie for the winter. Its a lightweight stretchy hoodie that’s perfect as an extra layer for warmth in the Spring through to Fall. The 4 pockets are really useful and the DWR finish in the most ‘exposed’ areas means it’ll resist the odd rain shower too.

About Topo Designs

Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen had always been interested in not only spending time outside, but also in the gear needed to get out. They found themselves wishing there was a company offering a lineup a bit more like the gear they grew up using—classic styling, functionality, durability and a clear connection with the brand behind the product. So in 2008, Jedd bought a sewing machine and began concepting, designing, and sewing packs in his Fort Collins basement, while Mark set out around Denver and the front range looking for resources and partners needed to build those designs.

They were lucky enough to find local Colorado folks that were just getting started like them and were willing to build companies together, and worked with them to produce Topo Designs’ initial offering of products, continuing to work with them to this day.
