In Depth Guide
Even though this trail is only 1.4 miles its totally worth the journey. About half of the entire trail is spent walking along cascades and waterfalls in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful forest.
Tunxis State Forest
The Falls Brook Trail is situated in the Tunxis State Forest which is situated at the northern part of Connecticut near the Massachusetts border.
Waterfalls and Cascades
The trail is lollipop shaped, and we suggest turning left at the split in the trail loop so you can spend the most time walking upwards going up by the sides of the waterfalls and cascades and enjoy the view more.
Vernal Pools
The trail also has some vernal pools and you’ll notice how quiet the woodland is with no road noise and just the gentle sound of water. There were also lots of salamanders when we visited on a humid day in late May.
