The Toes on the Nose Schooner Long Sleeve Hoodie is a 4 way stretch lightweight breathable fabric top with flat locked stitching and one of the comfiest softest garments I’ve ever worn. Its great to throw on for a cooler evening or morning but just as useful for a hike or trail run or with a pair of jeans. If your partner doesn’t steal it from you you’ll find you wear it in a lot more situations than you think. It looks good, feels good and comes in a wide range of colors.

In Depth Review

I review a lot of gear and a few times a year I get something that arrives that makes me think ‘my wife is going to steal this and I’m never going to see it again’. This is one of those times.

You don’t have to be a surfer to love this top. Its great for trail runs on cool days, with jeans when out for a walk and I even like it as a lightweight top to wear trail running on cooler evenings or mornings.

Fabric

The fabric is a lightweight thin synthetic blend thats unique to Toes on the Nose. It has 4 way stretch and breathability and is incredibly soft and comfortable. It also resists being crumpled if you stuff it in to a backpack for the day.

I would recommend washing this on a cool wash and not using fabric softener ( it tends to block the fabrics breathability and comfort) and I would hang dry the hoodie rather than tumble dry.

Fit

I found the schooner long sleeve hoodie to be true to size. I’m a medium in almost everything and its no different here. What I did notice was that it has something of a relaxed fit with plenty of movement but somehow with good tailoring in key places it doesn’t leave you looking like a sack of potatoes.

Stitching

To help with comfort levels the hoodie has flat locked stitching and if you look really closely the contrast color stitching has a ‘handmade’ irregularity to it that I really like.

Hood

The Schooner hoodie has a relaxed fit ‘Darth Maul’ kind of hood that’s got plenty of spare fabric so it doesn’t cling too much to your head.

Gripes

I’m hard pushed to have any gripes really. It might be nice to have a small zip pocket somewhere on it for keys and wallet but I’m being picky.
