In Depth Review

There are a few key elements to ‘getting socks right’ for trails and sport. These include making them as seamless as possible and moisture wicking to help stop blisters and ideally some extra padding on some parts of the feet that get the most hammering. These bright colorful socks from Top Designs tick all the boxes for a great outdoor sock.

Fabric

The Topo Sports Socks are a Nylon blend, with a small amount of elastane for a better fit. They are quick drying and easy to wash. They also have the company logo printed on the underside.

Fit

I’m actually just inbetween the two size options for these socks as I am a mens USA 9. If you find yourself in a similar position I would suggest opting for the lower size option for a better fit.

None really. I would suggest giving them one wash before wearing them to reduce the extra slippiness they have, and given how dirty I get running on trails I would like to see a black option just to hide the dirt but as these bold colors are one of Topos main calling cards I cant see them making a black pair anytime soon!

Verdict

At $15 you get the usual Topo Designs bomb proof build quality and a sock that’s friction free, comfortable and quick drying. I would opt for these socks on days that you’ll be crossing streams on trails a lot, doing muddy and wet obstacle course races, or when you are lounging round the house and want to make a ‘foot statement’. Either way you wont be disappointed.

About Topo

Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen had always been interested in not only spending time outside, but also in the gear needed to get out. They found themselves wishing there was a company offering a lineup a bit more like the gear they grew up using—classic styling, functionality, durability and a clear connection with the brand behind the product. So in 2008, Jedd bought a sewing machine and began concepting, designing, and sewing packs in his Fort Collins basement, while Mark set out around Denver and the front range looking for resources and partners needed to build those designs.
